KFAR CHABAD, Israel (August 4, 2026) — The Israeli Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon after two Israeli soldiers were killed and seven others were wounded in a roadside bomb attack near the border community of Majdal Zoun.

Ahead of the operation, the IDF issued evacuation warnings to residents of the village of Mansouri, instructing civilians to move at least one kilometer away into open areas and to avoid locations associated with Hezbollah, including weapons depots and military infrastructure.

According to the IDF, the strikes were launched in response to what it described as continued Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire agreement and were aimed at degrading the terror group’s operational capabilities in the area.

Separately, Lebanese officials reported that an Israeli strike in the town of Tebnine hit a prayer room located within a cemetery, killing one person and injuring 11 others. Those casualty figures have not been independently verified.

The escalation marks another round of cross-border fighting along Israel’s northern frontier, where tensions with Hezbollah have remained high despite ceasefire understandings reached in recent months.
