A group of elite Democrats expressed enormous disdain for their voters Wednesday, speaking candidly to each other in what they thought was a private moment.

An Abdul El-Sayed supporter, likely a member of the campaign, was caught on camera calling the voters who had just delivered a win to El-Sayed “stupid.”

El-Sayed, an anti-Israel progressive Democrat who was running for a Senate seat, won Michigan’s primary Tuesday.

“Thing is, people are stupid,” the supporter said, explaining that the voters will fall for catchy slogans without wondering what they actually mean. “This politics of no translation is going to be the way forward. … Medicare for all. No one has to decipher what the hell that means.”

In the room with him were Hasan Piker, an antisemitic progressive Democratic streamer, and El-Sayed, who both nodded along to his pronouncements.

Throughout his campaign, El-Sayed has slammed AIPAC, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and military aid to Israel. While claiming to love Jews, he said that Israelis were “bloodthirsty” and called Israel an apartheid state, an interesting way to show love to half the world’s Jews and most of the remaining half that supports Israel.

Piker is no stranger to controversy himself.

The Turkey-born influencer, known as HasanAbi on the streaming platform Twitch, has successfully faced down criticism for his antisemitic commentary and his support for Hamas after Oct. 7, as his popularity continued to grow.

After Oct. 7, he outright dismissed allegations of sexual violence by Hamas, calling them “rape fantasies” and “rape hallucinations.”

“It doesn’t matter if rapes happened on Oct. 7,” he said in a May 22, 2024, livestream. “It doesn’t change the dynamic for me.” He also said on Twitch that “in a totally just world, regardless of your background, any kind of f—— Zionist tendency should be treated in the same way as being a f—— rabid neo-Nazi … You shouldn’t even let someone be the f—— local dog catcher … if they have exhibited any sort of positive feelings about the state of Israel.”

He has called Orthodox Jews “inbred,” and in a grammatically challenged X post last May, wrote: “there’s no comparison between israel & hamas, one is a militant resistance comprised of orphaned soldiers born into a 77 year occupation, the other is a ethnoreligious supremacist apartheid state w nukes doing a genocide backed by the usa!”

Most recently, Piker came out in support of protesters in Queens on Jan. 8 who chanted “Say it loud, say it clear: We support Hamas here,” unlike far-left progressives like New York City Mayor Mamdani and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, who unequivocally condemned the protest.

In one post supporting the chant, he wrote, “Hamas is resisting against Israel because they’re ‘antisemitic’ is the funniest lie people tell themselves. If Israel was a Christian nation managing the apartheid and ethnic cleansing they’d still fight. You’re just mad people are fighting back at all.”

In another post, he said, “Can’t believe people are saying they support Hamas! Wait till you hear how you can openly support the IDF and Israel and still rub shoulders in polite society in spite of the livestreamed Holocaust we all witnessed.”
