Israel is holding dozens of Hamas terrorists who attempted to infiltrate militias operating in cooperation with Israel inside the Gaza Strip, i24 News reported Tuesday.

Hamas has repeatedly sent terrorists on its behalf to infiltrate the militias and establish contact with their leadership. Each time, however, the infiltrators were exposed and captured.

Israel is reportedly devoting particular attention to the Abu Shabab militia, which is considered one of the most successful militias operating on the ground.

In one case, a Hamas terrorist traveled from a distant area and reached the designated contact point, but was discovered and captured at the last moment.
