MUNITIONS LEAK PROBE: Trump Orders DOJ To Find “Treasonous” Sources
President Donald Trump has grown increasingly frustrated over reports detailing shortages in U.S. munitions stockpiles and has directed the Justice Department to identify officials leaking the information to the media, CNN reported, citing six senior U.S. officials, including at least one White House official.
Trump has described the leaks as “treasonous,” while White House officials have speculated that the information is being provided by anti-war members of the administration seeking to prevent him from launching another conflict with Iran.
The reports have also raised concern among Gulf leaders, who fear shortages of American air-defense munitions could weaken their ability to intercept Iranian missiles and drones if the conflict escalates.
A regional official said Iran has warned Gulf states that renewed U.S. strikes would trigger retaliation against energy infrastructure or water-desalination facilities across the region.
