Unconfirmed reports from an Iranian opposition outlet claim that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in critical condition and could die at any moment, though the claims have not been independently verified.

According to the report, two sources said to be close to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the opposition website IranWire that no member of the president’s cabinet has met with Khamenei since the February 28 U.S. strike on the Supreme Leader’s compound, in which his father and several other family members were reportedly killed.

The sources claimed that widespread discussions are taking place at the highest levels of the Iranian regime regarding Khamenei’s deteriorating condition, with rumors suggesting he is critically ill and may not survive.

Since assuming the role of Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared publicly or delivered any speeches. Aside from several letters attributed to him and published by official Iranian state media, he has remained out of public view, fueling speculation about his health and ability to lead.

One source described as being close to President Pezeshkian’s cabinet said that no cabinet member has met with Khamenei to date and added, “We would not be surprised if we soon hear news of his holy death.”

The report has not been confirmed by any other independent sources, and there has been no official statement from Iranian authorities regarding Khamenei’s condition.

Separately, Iran’s Intelligence Ministry announced the arrest of 21 people accused of maintaining ties with the Mossad. According to an official statement carried by the Iranian news agency ISNA, the suspects allegedly gathered and transferred sensitive military and air defense information to Israeli intelligence.

The ministry also announced the arrest of four additional individuals accused of ties to armed groups in Kerman Province, claiming they were found in possession of military weapons, hunting firearms, and ammunition.
