A man approximately 30 years old was R”L killed Friday afternoon in a horrific accident in Yerushalayim’s Bucharim neighborhood after his own vehicle apparently began rolling and struck him after he had exited it.

The incident occurred on Adoniyahu HaKohen Street. According to witnesses at the scene, the driver got out of his vehicle and, moments later, the vehicle began rolling and struck him, leaving him trapped.

Magen David Adom received a report at approximately 4:03 p.m. of a vehicle that had crashed into a fence on the street.

Emergency personnel arriving at the scene found the victim trapped and unconscious, with no pulse and not breathing. He had suffered extremely severe injuries to his head, chest and other parts of his body.

Rescue personnel worked to extricate the victim as medics simultaneously began lifesaving treatment. Following the extrication, prolonged resuscitation efforts continued before he was rushed in critical condition to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital.

United Hatzalah said that based on information provided at the scene, the man had exited the vehicle before it began rolling and struck him.

Despite the extensive efforts to save his life, doctors at Hadassah Mount Scopus were forced to pronounce his death.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal accident remain under investigation.
