Lakewood Mayor to Ask Police to Crack Down on Handicap Parking Violations
The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
My neighbor has a disabled child who can not walk. She tells me it is happening more and more frequently that she see people parked in handicapped spots without a handicapped license/placard.
This makes it very difficult as her child is already older and bigger. People with disabilities already have enough hardship as it is.
I am wondering if more focus can be put on ticketing people parked in handicapped spots illegally. This would serve as a deterrent and ease the burden of our handicapped neighbors.
As always, thanks for all you do.
