TRAGEDY IN NORTH: 16-Year-Old Yeshiva Bochur Dies After Rappelling Fall

A 16-year-old yeshiva bochur died Sunday evening after falling from a significant height, apparently while rappelling near Keshet Cave in the Western Galilee.
The incident was reported at 6:10 p.m. to MDA’s 101 emergency center in the Asher region. EMTs and paramedics who responded to the scene initially reported that the bochur was unconscious. His death was later confirmed.
Officers from the Nahariya Police Station arrived at Keshet Cave and began handling the incident. Police said the initial report involved one of the climbers falling from a height, apparently during rappelling.
Numerous emergency, medical and rescue forces were dispatched to the scene, along with an IDF rescue helicopter.
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
