Israel is already implementing key elements of the Gaza roadmap and ceasefire in practice, despite claims made during Thursday’s Cabinet meeting that major parts of the plan had not been approved, i24NEWS reported, citing a source close to the Board of Peace.

The source said Israel has completely halted its attacks and is maintaining a full ceasefire, while disputing claims that Israel currently controls 65% of Gaza. According to the source, IDF forces and military positions are in practice deployed along the original Yellow Line, covering roughly 53% of the Strip and not beyond it.

“Through its actions, Israel is implementing the 15-point roadmap, which in practice adopts the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement that led to the release of the hostages,” the source said.

The source added that the Board of Peace is beginning close monitoring to ensure all sides comply with the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement and the roadmap.

The comments came after Cabinet discussions in which concerns were raised about the roadmap and the agreement with Hamas, as well as claims that Israel had not approved the entry of the international force, signed off on implementing the Gaza roadmap, or committed to a two-week ceasefire.
