The IDF believes an explosive drone launched toward Israeli troops in southern Lebanon on Friday was part of a Hezbollah attempt to help terrorists escape from an underground complex near the Ali Taher ridge, Kan News reported.

The drone did not explode, and no injuries or damage were caused. The incident occurred during the ceasefire, and despite what Kan described as a blatant violation of the agreement, the IDF has not yet responded to it.

Over the past week, the IDF identified several attempts by terrorists to escape from the underground site. Some were eliminated, while others who came under attack managed to return inside. The military estimates that around 15 terrorists remain trapped in the complex.

A senior IDF official said the military would like to neutralize the site and eliminate the terrorists inside, describing it as the last location in the security zone where terrorists are known with certainty to remain. However, because of restrictions imposed by the political echelon following the agreement reached with the Lebanese government through U.S. mediation, the IDF currently does not have authorization to carry out offensive action.
