New Jersey regulators are conducting inspections of Freedom Fuel gas stations across the state to ensure the Trump-endorsed fuel chain is complying with state laws and regulations.

The New Jersey Office of Weights and Measures confirmed that it is aware of Freedom Fuel locations operating in the state and said the stations are being inspected as part of the agency’s routine oversight of gasoline retailers.

Freedom Fuel describes itself as a privately owned, patriotic company that responded to President Donald Trump’s push to lower gasoline prices. The company gained widespread attention after Trump promoted Freedom Fuel in a July 1 Truth Social post highlighting discounted gasoline prices at 25 locations in the Philadelphia area ahead of the July 4 holiday.

Freedom Fuel currently lists five locations in New Jersey, including stations in Marlton, Little Egg Harbor Township, West Berlin and two in Egg Harbor Township.

State officials emphasized that the inspections are routine and do not necessarily indicate any wrongdoing by the company. The Office of Weights and Measures regularly inspects gas stations throughout New Jersey and can take enforcement action when violations are discovered.

During inspections, officials test pumps for accuracy, examine calibration seals and required certifications, review dispenser and pricing signage, and test whether gasoline meets the octane rating advertised to customers.

The state said Freedom Fuel will be held to the same standards as other gasoline retailers operating in New Jersey.
