Tensions between Israel and the United States are deepening as Washington presses Israel to move toward ending active fighting in Iran, Lebanon and Gaza, Channel 13 reported.

Israeli security officials have protested to the political leadership in recent days over a demand that, while not explicitly included in the framework, has emerged in discussions between Israel and the United States: to halt targeted killings and moderate IDF operations in the Gaza Strip.

The United States wants Israel to end the fighting on all three active fronts. That message was also conveyed by U.S. Central Command chief Adm. Brad Cooper during his weekend visit to Israel. A senior IDF officer told Channel 13 that the American message to the military is to “move toward closing all three fronts.”

Regarding Iran, the IDF has told its American counterparts that Israel intends to preserve the option of acting if intelligence indicates that Iran is continuing to advance toward a nuclear capability or rebuild its ballistic missile array.

In Lebanon, the Americans want the IDF to withdraw from additional positions in the security zone in the south of the country. In Gaza, Washington wants to see progress and the deployment of the multinational force, which currently includes several hundred troops from Morocco and Uganda.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the opening of Sunday’s Cabinet meeting that “Israel rejects the 15-point document,” and said the IDF would not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is fully disarmed.

“The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed, and when I say Hamas is disarmed, that means the heavy weapons, the less-heavy weapons, all the weapons. Real disarmament, not fictitious disarmament,” Netanyahu said, adding that Israel is now discussing the issue with the Americans.

Netanyahu said the Americans have ideas, some of which Israel accepts and some of which it does not, and stressed that the IDF will continue thwarting threats against Israeli forces and civilians.

On Iran, Netanyahu said he greatly appreciates President Donald Trump and the historic partnership with the United States against Iran’s attempts to arm itself with nuclear weapons. “With an agreement or without an agreement, as long as I am prime minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” he said.

Addressing Lebanon, Netanyahu said Israel has operated forcefully there in recent days, eliminating terrorists, including in the Ali Taher Ridge area, and said Israel remains engaged in an important operation to eliminate threats.
