ATLANTIC BEACH, N.Y. (Aug. 11, 2026) – The Public Information Office reports the details of a Water Emergency that occurred on Sunday, August 9th, at 4:30 pm in Atlantic Beach.

According to Police, a 911 call was received for a 45-year-old male who was boogie boarding in the vicinity of the Sunny Atlantic Beach Club located at 2035 Ocean Boulevard.

The male aided fell off his boogie board and struck his head, resulting in a suspected spinal injury. Nassau County Aviation Helicopter 6 responded and transported the aided to a local area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

He is currently listed in stable condition.
