Netanyahu’s “Cabinets:” The Select Advisory Groups Counseling the Prime Minister
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has recently been holding regular consultations with two small, select groups — one focused on security matters and the other on political strategy ahead of the elections, Kan News reported Monday evening.
The security group, known as the “Officers’ Forum,” includes senior reserve officers Effi Eitam, Chezi Nehama, Erez Wiener and Yiftach Ron-Tal. According to the report, the group meets every week or two, with Netanyahu seeking the members’ assessments on security matters.
The political advisory group, which focuses on campaign strategy ahead of the upcoming elections, was established more recently. Its members hold telephone discussions as well as in-person meetings approximately once every week and a half.
The group includes Justice Minister Yariv Levin, Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli and Energy Minister Eli Cohen.
