A Toms River man has pleaded guilty to narcotics and weapons charges following a months-long investigation that resulted in the seizure of cocaine, a stolen handgun and thousands of dollars in cash, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.

Ravonn Terry, 38, of Toms River, pleaded guilty on August 10 before Superior Court Judge Dina M. Vicari to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a handgun.

At sentencing, scheduled for October 16, prosecutors said they will seek a 10-year New Jersey State Prison sentence on the narcotics charge and a five-year sentence, including 42 months of parole ineligibility, on the weapons charge. The sentences would run concurrently.

Authorities said the case stemmed from a narcotics investigation conducted between October 2025 and February 2026. Detectives from the Stafford Township and Toms River Township police departments established surveillance at a residence on Promise Avenue in Toms River that investigators said Terry was using to store and distribute cocaine.

On February 23, detectives observed Terry leave the residence and enter the passenger seat of a vehicle. Toms River Police officers later stopped the vehicle as it traveled through the township, and Terry was taken into custody without incident.

The Toms River Police Special Enforcement Team subsequently executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Promise Avenue residence. Investigators seized approximately 32 grams of cocaine, a Smith & Wesson revolver that was determined to have been stolen, drug paraphernalia associated with narcotics distribution and approximately $2,400 in cash, according to prosecutors.

Terry was lodged in the Ocean County Jail, where he remained detained through his guilty pleas on August 10.

Prosecutor Billhimer credited Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Alyssa Mandara, along with the Stafford Township Police Department, Toms River Township Police Department, Toms River Police Special Enforcement Team and New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression South Unit for their work on the investigation.
