The Town of Clarkstown has been named the winner of State Senator Bill Weber’s Five Towns of Rockland Blood Competition after collecting 62 units of donated blood during the countywide effort.

Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann announced the results, saying the town led the competition with 62 units collected. According to the town, those donations have the potential to help save as many as 186 lives.

The blood drive competition brought communities across Rockland County together with a shared goal of encouraging residents to donate blood and help replenish the region’s blood supply.

Hoehmann thanked residents throughout the county who participated, as well as Weber, John Mulgrew and staff involved in organizing the initiative.

While Clarkstown finished at the top of the competition, organizers emphasized the broader impact of the effort, with every donation potentially helping patients in need of lifesaving blood.
