Six years after the launch of the Abraham Accords, Jared Kushner says the Middle East may be on the verge of another historic diplomatic breakthrough.

In a message marking the anniversary of the accords, the former senior White House adviser and key architect of the normalization agreements reflected on what many once believed was impossible.

“Six years ago, President Trump launched the Abraham Accords, opening a new chapter of peace, partnership and prosperity in the Middle East,” Kushner wrote. “Many said it was impossible. But with bold leadership, persistence and a small group of people willing to challenge old assumptions, we proved that even what seems impossible can be achieved.”

Kushner sharply criticized previous diplomatic efforts, arguing that the region had long been trapped in failed frameworks that focused on managing conflict instead of resolving it. He said the Abraham Accords succeeded because they emphasized shared interests over longstanding disagreements.

According to Kushner, that approach has already resulted in billions of dollars in trade, expanded investment, stronger security cooperation, and deeper ties between Israel and its Arab partners.

But it was Kushner’s comments about the future that generated the most attention.

“The Middle East is once again at a turning point,” he wrote. “Today, there are opportunities for breakthroughs that many will say are impossible.”

Without identifying any specific countries or negotiations, Kushner suggested the region is poised for another wave of normalization if leaders are willing to reject conventional thinking.

“We surprised the world once,” he concluded. “With the right leadership, focus, patience and courage, I believe we can do it again.”
