Ocean County Commissioners Strengthen Partnership With Board Of Social Services

Aug 14, 2026·2 min read

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners is highlighting an increased partnership with the Ocean County Board of Social Services aimed at improving the delivery of critical assistance programs to residents across the county.

Commissioners Robert S. Arace and Jennifier Bacchione, who represent the Board of Commissioners on the Board of Social Services, have been working with Acting Executive Director Jennifer Hagendoorn, Board Counsel Brian Wilkie and other agency leaders to strengthen communication and coordination between county government and the social services agency.

County officials said the effort is focused on improving efficiency and ensuring residents who rely on food, medical and financial assistance receive services in a responsive and effective manner.

“Our responsibility is to ensure that County government works together in the best interests of the people we serve,” Arace said. “By building strong relationships with our partners at the Board of Social Services, we can better support programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Ocean County residents.”

Bacchione said stronger communication between the agencies will ultimately benefit residents who depend on the programs.

“When organizations communicate openly and work toward common goals, everyone benefits, especially the residents who depend on these essential services,” she said.

The Ocean County Board of Social Services administers a range of assistance programs for residents facing financial hardship. County officials said they remain committed to strengthening cooperation while maintaining the Board of Social Services’ statutory responsibilities.
