Jared Kushner is expected to travel to Israel next week for high-level talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the Trump administration continues pushing a U.S.-backed plan aimed at securing Hamas’ disarmament, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and one of the architects of the Abraham Accords, is expected to be joined by Board of Peace Gaza envoy Nikolay Mladenov. The exact date of the visit has not yet been finalized.

According to the source, Kushner will urge Netanyahu to allow the Board of Peace’s disarmament initiative to move forward. Hamas reportedly accepted the framework two weeks ago, but the proposal has stalled after Netanyahu publicly rejected provisions requiring the IDF to gradually withdraw from Gaza.

Despite that public opposition, Israel quietly refrained from conducting airstrikes in Gaza for more than a week before resuming operations earlier this week.

Kushner and Mladenov are also expected to press Israel to restore the pause in military operations and fulfill humanitarian commitments made as part of the October 2025 ceasefire agreement. The Board of Peace reportedly believes those steps could pave the way for Hamas to begin surrendering its weapons.

However, diplomatic sources remain skeptical that significant progress can be achieved before Israel’s October elections, noting that Netanyahu is unlikely to publicly soften his opposition to the proposal during the campaign.

According to an Arab diplomat quoted in the report, both Kushner and Mladenov have grown frustrated with Netanyahu’s public criticism of the plan.

Kushner last visited Israel following his role in brokering the October 2025 ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas.
