Three suspects were taken into custody Thursday in Flatbush after Flatbush Shomrim volunteers tracked a vehicle believed to be connected to multiple jewelry scams, including an incident targeting a Jewish victim on Shabbos near Ocean Parkway and Avenue M.

Shomrim had obtained the vehicle’s license plate a day earlier and continued monitoring for it after learning that the same vehicle was also wanted in connection with a similar incident in Yonkers.

The vehicle was later spotted back in Brooklyn, and Shomrim members followed it as the occupants approached another potential victim near East 18th Street and Avenue L. According to information obtained by YWN, the suspects appeared to attempt a similar scam, though no property was taken during that encounter.

Police subsequently stopped the vehicle near Avenue N and Ocean Parkway, where three occupants were taken into custody.

Authorities are investigating the suspects’ possible connection to the earlier incidents in Brooklyn and Yonkers.
