Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude chatbot, is in talks to acquire Israeli AI startup Decart in a deal that could value the company at as much as $6 billion, according to Bloomberg.

If completed, the transaction would reportedly be the largest acquisition in Anthropic’s history.

The talks remain ongoing, however, and there is no guarantee that an agreement will ultimately be reached, according to people familiar with the negotiations.

Decart specializes in artificial intelligence infrastructure, working with AI developers to improve how computing capabilities are utilized across a wide range of chips.

The Israeli startup is also developing advanced AI video-generation technology based on so-called “world models,” which can make changes to live video streams in real time.

Real-time generation and manipulation of visual content has emerged as a major frontier in the rapidly expanding AI video industry, and Decart has made the technology a significant focus of its operations.

A deal would mark a major expansion for Anthropic as competition intensifies among leading artificial intelligence companies to develop increasingly powerful models and the infrastructure needed to support them.

Anthropic declined to comment on the report, while a Decart spokesperson did not respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment.
