
Vehicle Submerged in Ramapo River Following Crash on NYS Thruway

A multi-vehicle motor vehicle accident occurred Thursday evening on the northbound NYS Thruway near Mile Marker 31.1, involving several vehicles and resulting in one vehicle leaving the roadway and entering the Ramapo River.
The vehicle rolled down an embankment and came to rest submerged in the river. Despite the difficult circumstances, all occupants of the vehicle were successfully extricated.
Hillburn and Tallman Fire Departments responded to the scene, along with New York State Police, Hatzoloh and EMS personnel. One person sustained minor injuries, and was transported by Faist EMS to Westchester Medical Center.
Emergency crews remained on scene as they addressed the crash and the vehicle that entered the river.
