An Israeli man in his mid-30s was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand, on Shabbos while vacationing in the country.

The man, who was married and the father of a young daughter, was found lifeless in his room. ZAKA’s International Division immediately began working with Thai authorities to secure the release of the niftar and arrange for his body to be flown to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah.

The efforts are being coordinated with Chabad shliach in Thailand Rabbi Nechemya Wilhelm, Israel’s Foreign Ministry and local officials.

Baruch Nidam, director of ZAKA’s International Division, said that immediately after receiving the report, the organization began working to ensure kavod hameis and secure the release of the niftar for transport to Eretz Yisroel.

The tragedy comes just days after a 26-year-old Israeli was killed in a motorcycle crash in the Kanchanaburi region of western Thailand. His motorcycle collided with a pickup truck, and he was found unconscious near the motorcycle. His body has since been flown to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah.

The incidents follow another serious accident in Thailand earlier this year in which six Israelis were injured after a minibus carrying 10 Israeli passengers crashed in the country’s north. One of the victims was critically injured.
