IDF Eliminates Top Hezbollah Commander In Response To Explosive Drone Attack
The IDF carried out several more waves of strikes overnight Motzei Shabbos in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area of southern Lebanon in response to the Hezbollah drone attack that seriously wounded an IDF officer and two soldiers over Shabbos.
According to Lebanese reports, Israeli Air Force aircraft targeted various Hezbollah sites. Additionally, heavy artillery fire was directed at targets in the same villages and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, the IDF spokesperson announced that the military struck the Deir al-Zaharani area yesterday and eliminated Abu Hassan Alaa, a senior commander in Hezbollah’s Badr Unit.
“As part of his role, Abu Hassan Alaa took part in advancing numerous terrorist attacks against IDF forces operating in the security zone, including launching attack drones at our forces in southern Lebanon,” the statement said.
“In recent years, he commanded several combat sectors in the Hezbollah terrorist organization against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.”
Defense Minister Yisrael Katz wrote this morning on X: “No score in any arena will be left unsettled. We will forcefully defend our soldiers and citizens.”
