
Illegal Gambling Bust in Spring Valley: Two Arrested After Month-Long Police Probe

Two people were arrested after Spring Valley Police carried out multiple search warrants last week as part of a month-long investigation into illegal gambling operations in the village.
The search warrants were executed at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, at two locations, 44 North Main Street and 26 North Main Street.
Cesar Hernandez-Amparo, 46, of Hillcrest, and Jose Chavez-Torres, 50, of Spring Valley, were arrested and charged with promoting gambling in the first degree, a felony, as well as possession of gambling records in the second degree and possession of a gambling device, both misdemeanors. Both individuals were released following further proceedings.
Spring Valley Police thanked the New York State Police and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations for assisting in the investigation.
