SCN services are set to return following last month’s suspension, with the program moving forward under new restrictions, updated rules, and increased oversight.

Under the latest guidance, certain providers are once again being allowed to accept HRSN referrals and begin providing services to eligible members.

The return comes after services were suspended last month, affecting members who rely on the SCN program for food, nutrition, and other forms of assistance.

At the same time, the program is moving forward with tighter guidelines, including updated rules surrounding eligibility, household benefits, documentation, and how certain services are provided.

New York State has released another version of the SCN Operations Manual, which includes additional guidance for providers and members and places a stronger focus on compliance and oversight.

The new HRSN update limits the amount for a number of services, including nutrition benefits and other forms of assistance available through the program.

The updated rules are aimed at allowing SCN services to move forward while putting clearer requirements and additional oversight in place as the program continues.
