Motorists should expect overnight road closures near Broadway and South 8th Street later this month as crews carry out work related to an MTA contract.

North Shore Neon Sign LLC is scheduled to fully close portions of Broadway and South 8th Street from August 24 through September 4, with work taking place nightly between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

On Broadway, the closure will affect the roadway between Roebling Street and Havemeyer Street. South 8th Street will also be closed between Roebling Street and Broadway.

Crews will use a crane, man-lift and knuckle boom to remove and install concessions and billboards as part of MTA Contract R50804.

The closures will be limited to the overnight work hours, with drivers advised to plan for alternate routes while work is underway.
