A routine patrol investigation in Lakewood led to the arrest of a Brick man on drug charges early Saturday morning.

At approximately 1:58 a.m. on August 15, a Lakewood Police officer patrolling near Ridge Avenue and Lanes Mill Road spotted a disabled vehicle with a flat tire and stopped to assist.

Police said the officer made contact with the driver, identified as 42-year-old Ryan Laudisi of Brick, and discovered that he had an outstanding Ocean County warrant.

During the investigation, officers recovered quantities of suspected crack cocaine and cocaine from inside the vehicle, according to police.

Laudisi was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail pending a future court appearance.

“This arrest demonstrates how proactive policing and attention to detail can turn an ordinary encounter into a meaningful enforcement action,” Lakewood Police Chief Gregory H. Meyer said. “We remain committed to keeping illegal drugs off our streets and protecting our community.”

All charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
