GAZA CITY (VINnews)-The Israel Defense Forces said it carried out a precise aerial strike Tuesday near the port of Gaza City targeting Hamas commanders and operatives from the group’s elite Nukhba force who were meeting and planning attacks against Israeli troops in the Strip.

The military said the targets included a Nukhba company commander, three platoon commanders and several additional operatives. One of those struck had taken part in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, according to the IDF.

“The terrorists were struck in a precise aerial strike to remove the threat,” the army said in a statement. It added that the results of the strike would be released once verified and that steps were taken to minimize harm to civilians.

Palestinian media reported the strike hit a cafe, killing six people and wounding 10 others.
