The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) has expanded REAL ID appointment availability to three additional agency locations in Hazlet, Turnersville, and Wallington.
“By adding appointments at three new locations this summer — on top of four added this spring — we are continuing to reduce wait times statewide and making it more convenient than ever for residents to get their REAL ID,’’ said Acting NJMVC Chief Administrator Rosalie Johnson.
The new REAL ID appointments at Hazlet, Turnersville, and Wallington are now open for booking on the NJMVC’s online scheduler.
The expansion follows the addition of REAL ID services at four locations earlier this spring in Medford, South Brunswick, Springfield, and Trenton, which were highlighted during a June visit by Governor Sherrill to the NJMVC’s Trenton Agency. Since the MVC expanded access to this service, the Commission has issued over 350,000 Real ID’s, bringing the state to approximately 2.7 million Real ID driver licenses and IDs in force today.
How to Get a REAL ID in New Jersey
REAL ID is available at NJMVC agencies and mobile units statewide through two appointment types:
- REAL ID appointments — available for those customers whose licenses or IDs are not due for renewal within the next three months.
- Driver license/non-driver ID renewal appointments — available for customers with licenses or IDs expiring within three months, where they can upgrade to REAL ID and renew their document at the same time.
