Amid the recent increase in incidents involving e-bikes, e-scooters, and hoverboards, Rockland Daily collaborated with a group of prominent local officials, first responders, and medical professionals on a special “Rockland Wake Up” video, providing them a platform to speak directly to Rockland residents about the importance of safety and responsible riding.

Featured in the video are Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman, Spring Valley Police Chief Richard Oleszcuk, Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland County Captain Abe Rosenberg, Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach, Good Samaritan Hospital emergency physician Dr. Charles Fleischner, MD, and Monsey Fire Department Captain Gary Rothschild.

Each shared the message from his own perspective, stressing the importance of greater awareness and safer riding as e-bikes, e-scooters, and hoverboards continue to share Rockland’s busy roads with vehicles and pedestrians. The message of the campaign is simple: Ride smart. Stay alert. Stay safe.
