A special family simcha is approaching in the Skverer court with the upcoming chasunah of a great-grandchild of the Skver Rebbe shlita. The wedding will take place in Eretz Yisrael, where both the chassan and kallah live, making it the first wedding of one of the Rebbe’s grandchildren or great-grandchildren that he will not attend in person.

The kallah is the eldest grandchild of the Zvehiller Rebbe of America shlita, a son-in-law of the Skverer Rebbe. The kallah, a daughter of Harav Gedaliah Yaakov Leib Goldman shlita, the Zvehiller Rebbe’s eldest son. Harav Goldman is a son-in-law of Hagaon Hatzaddik Rav Yaakov Yeshaya Zev Gross shlita, Holmin Rav in Beitar, who is the son of the Holmin Rebbe Shlita. Harav Gross is the son-in-law of the Zutshka Rebbe zt”l. The chassan is a son of Harav Yosef Schiff, a son-in-law of the Modzitzer Rebbe shlita.

The celebrations will begin this Shabbos with the aufruf at the Modzitz Beis Medrash Hagadol in Bnei Brak. The chassan muhl will be held Motzei Shabbos at Beis Malka in Yerushalayim, followed by the chasunah on Sunday night, Parshas Ki Savo, at Heichalei Malchus in Bnei Brak.

The first two sheva brachos will take place in Eretz Yisrael. The chassan, kallah, and family will then travel to New York, where a sheva brachos will be held Wednesday at the Zvehill Beis Medrash in Monsey.

The central sheva brachos in America will take place Thursday night at the Beis Medrash Hagadol in Shikun Skver, where thousands of Skverer Chassidim are expected to join the Rebbe and his family celebrating the simcha. The celebrations will continue through Shabbos with the Shabbos Sheva Brachos in Shikun Skver.

The grandfather of the kallah, the Zvehiller Rebbe shlita arrived in Eretz Yisrael today ahead of the chasunah and will spend the coming Shabbos, Parshas Ki Seitzei, at the Skverer Beis Medrash in Yerushalayim. A large farshpiel will be held there on Motzei Shabbos in honor of the upcoming wedding.

Although the Skverer Rebbe will remain in New York during the chasunah itself, the Rebbe will hold a special seudah at his home together with his children and grandchildren, marking the simcha with his family from afar.
