DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (VINnews) — U.S. Rep. Randy Fine fended off a well-funded primary challenge Tuesday and secured the Republican nomination in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
Early results from the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections showed Fine winning about 61% of the vote, while anti-Israel influencer Dan Bilzerian had less than 17%. Sorrento activist Aaron Baker had less than 13%, and Palm Coast City Council member Charles Gambaro had less than 10%.
The primary ended an incendiary campaign in which Bilzerian repeatedly attacked Fine over his Jewish heritage and referred to him with an antisemitic slur.
Fine, who is Jewish, will advance to the general election as he seeks another term in Congress.
