
New Poll Shows Gives Governor Sherrill A 55% Approval Rating
As New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill wraps up her first six months in office, a new poll released today gives her decent approval ratings, while U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Andy Kim also hold positive ratings among New Jersey voters.
The Morning Consult poll shows 55% of New Jersey registered voters approve of Sherrill’s job performance, compared with 30% who disapprove. Another 15% said they did not know or did not have an opinion. Her net approval rating is plus 25 percentage points.
Booker, a Democrat who is running for reelection to the Senate this year and is also strongly considering running for president in 2028, also has a favorable standing among voters. Fifty-three percent approve of his job performance, while 33% disapprove, giving him a net approval rating of plus 19 points. His net rating is up 3 points from the previous quarter.
Kim, New Jersey’s other Democratic senator, has a 49% approval rating and a 27% disapproval rating, for a net approval rating of plus 22 points. His net rating increased by 1 point from the first quarter of 2026.
President Donald Trump is the only leader included in the survey with a negative overall rating in New Jersey. 38% of voters approve of his performance, while 59% disapprove, producing a net approval rating of minus 21 points.
Trump’s net rating declined by 2 points from the first quarter. His approval is sharply divided along party lines, with a net rating of plus 66 among Republicans and minus 79 among Democrats. His net rating among independents is minus 39.
Sherrill’s net rating is plus 73 among Democrats, plus 15 among independents and minus 28 among Republicans.
