A Lakewood Police investigation into the fraudulent use of a stolen credit card led to two unrelated arrests at a Wawa in Browns Mills on August 18.

Detective Robert Meyer Jr. and Patrolman Anthony Amoroso traveled to the Wawa on Juliustown Road while investigating the use of a credit card that had been stolen during a vehicle burglary in Lakewood.

Police located Raymond L. Lawson, 59, of West Creek, who was arrested and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. He was released on a criminal complaint summons pending a future court appearance.

While officers were conducting that investigation, Detective Meyer recognized Alexander Lowery, 59, of Lakewood, who was wanted in connection with a separate series of shoplifting incidents in Lakewood and also had an active arrest warrant.

Lowery was taken into custody and transported to the Ocean County Jail.

Lakewood Police thanked the Pemberton Township Police Department for assisting with both arrests.

All charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
