To My Fellow Friend,
Wow, what a year it’s been! This process of getting into High School is not a simple matter.
For years, I’ve been hearing about the difficulties involved, but I never thought it would happen to US. My daughter is really an amazing girl. I’m not just saying this because I am her mother. I get raving reviews about her wherever I go. She is BH very talented, capable, and has lots of personality. She is a true Bas Yisroel in her dress, actions and Tefillos. Her Middos are above and beyond. She is the one who always holds the door open for me and lets me walk in first. She is the one to jump up and help when she sees I am not managing. She is the first girl to approach another girl who is lonely or having a hard day. She is constantly looking for Chessed opportunities. Her teachers and principals love her, and had only the best things to say to all the High Schools we applied to.
I heard over from Rabbi Ashear (whose Shiurim have really helped me get through this) that when one door closes for us, Hashem is opening another. Multiple doors closed on us while we waited for answers. As agonizing as this has been, I truly believe it is 100% from Hashem and that He has a way bigger and better plan for us! I don’t believe in getting stuck on the school of “choice”. Just like with Shidduchim, our job isn’t always to look for the best, but rather to accept with love what Hashem gives us. Obviously, we cannot and should not give up on what is truly crucial and important, and we should never lower our standards. But we have to honestly ask ourselves: by wanting a specific school, am I doing it truly because that is what is best for my daughter or because the alternative (for example, a new school) is not respectable enough for me. Am I taking into consideration that every day my daughter is not in school is taking a heavy toll on her that will follow her forever?
BH after shedding many tears and Davening and Davening and Davening, I have come to the realization that Hashem is opening a door for me. A school where my daughter can thrive. Where she will be appreciated in so many ways, and not just be a number. A school that is perfect for my daughter in every way!
If your daughter is still not in school, and you would like to find out about other options please email me at: [email protected]. I can’t promise that I can help you but I will definitely BEH try.
If you would like to comment on this letter, please keep it POSITIVE, as we are trying to create a Kiddush Hashem and REBUILD the Bais Hamikdash, BEH very speedily in our days!!!
Sincerely,
A Friend
