
BDE: Petira of Reb Aron Gertz Z”L, Longtime Karlin Stolin Rebbi In Boro Park {Levaya Details}
Lakewood Alerts regrets to inform you of the Petira of Reb Aron Gertz z”l, a longtime mechanech who served as a rebbi at Yeshiva Karlin Stolin of Boro Park for more than 30 years.
Reb Aron was born on Manhattan’s Lower East Side in the 1940s to Reb Louis and Meira Gertz and was a musmach of HaRav Chaim Pinchos Scheinberg zt”l. In 1970, he married Mrs. Badana Gertz, daughter of Rav Chaim and Rebbetzin Evelyn Yachnes. The family lived in Mattersdorf before moving to Flatbush in 1979.
During his decades at Yeshiva Karlin Stolin, Reb Aron taught korbanos and haschalas Gemara, instilling in generations of young talmidim a deep love of Torah and a desire to succeed. He was remembered for his exceptional warmth and love for Yidden of every background and was rarely seen without a sefer in his hand.
In recent years, Reb Aron resided in Lakewood.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Badana Gertz; his sister, Mrs. Chana Weisberger; and his children, Shalom, Reb Yankie, Reb Moshe, Reb Yisroel Meir, Shmuli, Dovid, Shaya and Mrs. Meira Stern.
The levaya will take place today, Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m. at Congregation Sons of Israel Lakewood Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue.
