Green U.S. Mail Relay Boxes Being Replaced Across Boro Park With New, More Secure Models
Yisroel R.
A familiar piece of Boro Park’s streetscape is getting an upgrade, as older U.S. Mail relay boxes are being replaced with brand-new models across the neighborhood.
The relay boxes, used by postal workers during their daily routes, have long been stationed at various locations throughout Boro Park. The older green boxes are now being removed and replaced with newer units as part of the ongoing rollout.
The newly installed boxes will also feature a different type of locking system, adding an updated security feature to the equipment used by postal workers while making their rounds.
Residents may begin noticing the newer boxes appearing at more locations as the replacements continue throughout Boro Park, gradually swapping out the older models that have been in place for years.
The change is a relatively small one, but it gives another everyday piece of neighborhood infrastructure a fresh look while updating the equipment used behind the scenes to keep local mail moving.
