Palestinian police arrested an IDF reservist at a checkpoint in Area C, which falls outside their jurisdiction, since Area C of Judea and Samaria is under Israeli control.

According to an initial report by Israeli broadcaster KAN News, Palestinian police rescued an Israeli in Area B, which is under the joint control of Israel and the Palestinian Authority, similar to an episode that happened earlier.

In the earlier report, an Israeli who entered Ein Arik, a village in Area B, was rescued by Palestinian forces; three others were also safely extracted from the village. A later report by KAN clarified that in a separate incident, the reservist had been stopped at an illegal checkpoint in Area C and was later handed over to the IDF.

The second incident occurred near Beitunia, west of Ramallah.

The reservist said that he was pepper-sprayed and detained violently, and his glasses were taken away. He said that his weapon and vehicle were also confiscated and that he was driven to a location near Ramallah before being handed over to the IDF.

The IDF took him into custody and restored his vehicle, clarifying that he had been unlawfully detained at an illegal checkpoint in Area C.
