The Village of Kaser will significantly increase security and patrols throughout this coming Shabbos, as a large number of local men are expected to be out of the country for the historic Vizhnitz Monsey nesiyah to Eretz Yisroel.

With many households expected to have family members away, the village has arranged for additional patrols together with the Ramapo Police Department and Chaverim of Rockland. The expanded security presence will begin Thursday morning, August 27, and remain in place through Tuesday morning, September 1.

The added patrols are intended to provide a stronger security presence throughout the village during a weekend when many homes will have fewer family members present than usual.

In addition to the increased security, the village is also expanding its regular Shabbos assistance services for residents who may need help with certain practical matters during Shabbos.

The service will be available Friday night from the beginning of Shabbos until 2:00 a.m., and again on Shabbos day from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with village personnel making rounds throughout Kaser.

Residents who know ahead of time that they may need assistance are being encouraged to make use of the village’s designated card and patrol-box system. Requests can be placed at several locations around the village so they can be located when personnel make their rounds.

The designated locations include 22 Phyllis Terrace, the corner of Calvert Drive and School Terrace, the corner of Ashel Lane and Rita Avenue, in front of 2 Elyon Road, Route 306 corner Phyllis Terrace, and at 2 Phyllis Terrace.

The expanded security and Shabbos assistance are being put in place for the duration of the Vizhnitz Monsey trip, giving families remaining in Kaser both an increased patrol presence and additional access to the village’s regular Shabbos support services when families have less in-house assistance.
