Yair Netanyahu, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has filed a formal complaint with Israel’s Police Commissioner, Shin Bet chief and Attorney General, alleging that Iranian operatives attempted to target him at his residence in Miami.

According to the complaint, Shin Bet personnel assigned to protect Netanyahu encountered what was described as an “Iranian terrorist squad” outside the entrance to his Miami home. The letter claims the situation was resolved only through the guards’ rapid response, describing the incident as a narrowly avoided national catastrophe.

Netanyahu is also calling for a criminal and security investigation into Haaretz journalist Ori Misgav, accusing him of repeatedly publishing sensitive information about his whereabouts and security arrangements.

The complaint alleges that Misgav’s social media posts revealed Netanyahu’s Miami address, apartment and floor number, as well as details about his daily movements and personal protection. Netanyahu’s attorney, Uriel Nizri, claims the information ultimately reached hostile actors and created a potential blueprint for targeting him.

The complaint further alleges that Misgav disclosed information concerning Shin Bet Unit 730, including the number of personnel assigned to Netanyahu and details about the rotation of his security team. It claims that two guards accompany Netanyahu at a time and are replaced every two weeks by another team traveling from Israel, with alleged details about their flights and schedules also made public.

Nizri described the alleged disclosures as a “systematic, consistent and ongoing” campaign that exposed security vulnerabilities and effectively provided an operational “road map” to an enemy.

The complaint asks authorities to investigate potential offenses including aiding an enemy during wartime, providing information that could endanger state security, compromising the protection of a guarded individual and violating Netanyahu’s privacy through alleged surveillance and publication of personal information.

Nizri is also calling for the prosecution of anyone allegedly involved, including accomplices, individuals who may have ordered the activity and those who knowingly allowed it to continue.

The complaint requests that Yair Netanyahu be formally recognized as a victim of crime and receive updates regarding the investigation, including any arrests, charging decisions or decision to close the case. His attorney also asked for the identity and contact information of the lead investigator so Netanyahu can provide additional evidence he says is in his possession.
