With the new school year just around the corner, Boro Park families will have a chance to get a head start on school supplies while enjoying an afternoon of fun and entertainment, as the Boro Park Jewish Community Council (BPJCC) hosts its Back-to-School Event today.
The event is being held by BPJCC in proud partnership with Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein and Councilman Simcha Felder, bringing together local families for an afternoon geared toward helping children prepare for the upcoming school year.
A major highlight will be a giveaway of free backpacks filled with school supplies, giving local students the chance to head into the new school year with a fully stocked backpack ready for the classroom. The backpacks will be available while supplies last.
The afternoon will also feature plenty of fun for children, including a walk-around magic show, balloon art, cotton candy, popcorn, ice cones, and so much more, giving families a chance to turn their back-to-school preparations into an enjoyable afternoon outing.
The event will take place today, Thursday, August 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the BPJCC Community Center, located at 5102 13th Avenue in Boro Park. The event is scheduled to go forward rain or shine.
Eligible Medicaid members attending the event will also have the opportunity to receive on-site screening for SCN services, adding another resource for families who come by during the afternoon.
BPJCC expressed appreciation to the sponsors helping make the event possible, especially to Metropolitan Commercial Bank, whose space houses the BPJCC Community Center. Additional sponsors include Toys 4U, Dash Cabinetry, and Fidelis Care, which will all be having children-friendly booths on site.
With free school supplies, children’s entertainment, and community resources all in one place, today’s event offers Boro Park families a convenient and festive way to get ready for the school year while spending an afternoon together with family and friends.
