Ramapo Police Operations Captain Kevin Lee was honored Friday afternoon with a walkout ceremony marking the conclusion of his more than 34-year career with the Ramapo Police Department.

Colleagues, department members, and elected officials gathered to recognize Lee as he officially wrapped up decades of service, offering a final salute to a career that spanned numerous roles and major responsibilities within the department.

As previously reported by Rockland Daily, Lee began his law enforcement career after graduating from the Rockland County Police Academy in 1992 and went on to serve in patrol, Traffic Safety, supervisory positions, and department leadership.

Amid his career, Lee rose through the ranks from Sergeant to Lieutenant and later served as Administrative Captain before also becoming Operations Captain, a role that placed him among the department’s senior leadership.

Lee also played a longstanding role as the department’s Accreditation Program Manager, helping oversee the standards and procedures tied to the Ramapo Police Department’s accreditation efforts.

Friday’s walkout ceremony served as a final department tribute to Lee’s years of service, giving fellow officers and colleagues an opportunity to recognize the experience, leadership, and institutional knowledge he brought to Ramapo Police over more than three decades.

Police Chief Daniel Hyman and Town Supervisor Michael Specht praised Captain Lee for his professionalism, dedication, and leadership, highlighting the impact he made throughout his long career with the department.

Among the many speeches and awards presented at the ceremony, askan Moshe Kaff presented Captain Lee with a plaque on behalf of the New Square community, thanking him for his many years of devoted service to the community throughout his career with the Ramapo Police Department.

With Friday’s ceremony, Lee’s 34-year chapter with Ramapo Police formally came to a close, leaving behind a career that saw him serve the department and the wider Ramapo community in a wide range of roles with tremendous commitment and dedication.
