With the new school year just around the corner, Boro Park families got a head start on school supplies while enjoying an afternoon of fun and entertainment, as the Boro Park Jewish Community Council (BPJCC) hosted its Back-to-School Event on Thursday.

The event was held by BPJCC in proud partnership with Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein and Councilman Simcha Felder, bringing together local families for an afternoon geared toward helping children prepare for the upcoming school year.

A major highlight was a giveaway of free backpacks filled with school supplies, giving local students the chance to head into the new school year with a fully stocked backpack ready for the classroom.

The afternoon also featured plenty of fun for children, including a walk-around magic show, balloon art, cotton candy, popcorn, ice cones, and much more, giving families a chance to turn their back-to-school preparations into an enjoyable afternoon outing.

The event took place Thursday, August 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the BPJCC Community Center, located at 5102 13th Avenue in Boro Park.

Eligible Medicaid members attending the event also had the opportunity to receive on-site screening for SCN services, adding another resource for families during the afternoon.

BPJCC expressed appreciation to the sponsors who helped make the event possible, especially Metropolitan Commercial Bank, whose space houses the BPJCC Community Center. Additional sponsors included Toys 4U, Dash Cabinetry, and Fidelis Care, which all had children-friendly booths on site.

With free school supplies, children’s entertainment, and community resources all in one place, the event offered Boro Park families a convenient and festive way to get ready for the school year while spending an afternoon together with family and friends.
