Paul Nicholas Miller, the white supremacist internet personality known as “Gypsy Crusader,” defeated pro-Israel Jewish fighter Ben “King” Azoulay by split decision Saturday night at Duel Arena 1 in Orlando, Florida.

The controversial heavyweight kickboxing match was billed as far more than a sporting rivalry. Miller has built an online following through racist, antisemitic and anti-Israel content, while Azoulay entered the ring declaring that he was fighting for Israel and the Jewish people and promising to knock Miller out.

Miller held a considerable physical advantage. He weighed in at 218 pounds compared with Azoulay’s 185.2 pounds, a difference of nearly 33 pounds, and also appeared significantly taller. Miller additionally entered with previous Muay Thai and kickboxing experience, while Azoulay’s fighting background has largely involved influencer events.

The disturbing political overtones continued throughout the event. Miller, who has a swastika tattoo, repeatedly performed Nazi-style salutes. His corner included fellow antisemite and former MMA fighter Jake Shields, who wore a “FCK Israel” shirt.

Azoulay battled through the size and experience disadvantage, but Miller ultimately received the judges’ split decision.

The hostility then spilled beyond the ring. Following the decision, members of the Jewish and African-American crowd became involved in a chaotic confrontation with Miller and his entourage. People could be heard denouncing Miller’s group and calling them “Nazis” as pushing and fighting erupted around the arena.

Azoulay did not secure the knockout he had promised, but he stepped into the ring against a much larger opponent while proudly standing up for Israel and the Jewish people. Miller may have received the decision, but the ugly scenes surrounding the fight showed that this was never merely about kickboxing.

Ironically, despite Miller declaring himself a white supremacist and promoting the supposed purity of the “Aryan race,” he is reportedly of Romani, commonly called Gypsy, ancestry. The Nazis considered Roma people racially inferior and murdered hundreds of thousands of them during the Holocaust, making Miller’s embrace of Nazi ideology a disturbing contradiction.
