WASHINGTON, D.C. (Aug. 30, 2026) — A high-level delegation composed of leading Chassidic Rebbes and prominent Roshei Yeshiva is preparing to convene with President Donald J. Trump at the White House later this week. The forthcoming gathering follows extensive coordination to bring together influential rabbinical authorities from across the country for a direct dialogue with the nation’s chief executive.

The anticipated delegation includes prominent figures across major communities, among them the Satmar Rebbes, the Skverer Rebbe, the Bobover Rebbe, the Bobov-45 Rebbe, and the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Monsey. In addition, major leaders from leading yeshivot, including Rabbi Malkiel Kotler of Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, are slated to participate in the summit alongside other senior communal leaders.

Participants intend to utilize the session to voice critical priorities impacting religious Jewish communities across the United States and abroad. Community representatives also plan to express their appreciation for ongoing support, religious liberty protections, and federal initiatives that benefit their institutions and families.

During a weekend gathering in Kiryas Yoel, the Satmar Rebbe reflected on the decision to attend the upcoming Thursday summit. While initially hesitant to divert focus from intensive Torah study and the heightened spiritual preparations typical of the current Hebrew calendar month, he ultimately resolved to join the delegation. He explained that high-level civic engagement historically serves as a crucial avenue to advocate for individuals facing hardship and to intervene on pressing global matters, including current conscription pressures confronting yeshiva students in Israel.

The visit is expected to address several pressing concerns regarding institutional autonomy and civil protections, while fostering direct channels of communication between community leadership and federal administration officials.
