Preparation & Inspiration For The Yomim Noraim {Yeshiva Kinor Dovid – Harmony}
Rabbi Daniel Glatstein discusses hachanos for the Yomim Noraim with members of Yeshiva Kinor Dovid. He emphasizes that while the Rambam identifies 13 principles of faith, these can be distilled into three core concepts essential for believing in Hashem and securing divine salvation:
The Existence of Hashem (Mitsiut Hashem): Recognizing the reality of the Creator.
Divine Providence (Hashgacha): Believing that all events are orchestrated by Hashem.
The Truth of the Torah (Torah Min HaShamayim): Understanding that the Torah comes directly from the Almighty.
Rabbi Glatstein explains how Mussaf is built upon these three principles, noting that it contains 1,820 words—the exact number of times Hashem’s name appears in the Torah.
He highlights that the most important intention when hearing the Shofar is to actively fulfill the mitzvah and to yearn for the arrival of Mashiach.
He discusses how maintaining peace and Shalom within a shul or yeshiva is a powerful tool to help bring the ultimate redemption.
The latter portion of the video features a Q&A session where Rabbi Glatstein answers questions from students regarding topics such as the color of an esrog, how to perform teshuva for speech-related aveiros, and his own journey to becoming a Rav.
