Morton Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America, slammed Senate Democrats for a letter they penned to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week decrying settler violence and urging him to take action.

Klein said that the senators, with the exception of John Fetterman (D-Pa.), “fell for the latest anti-Israel propaganda about a supposed existence of and increase of ‘settler violence’ in Judea and Samaria.”

Klein alleged that the letter decried the “fake problem” of settler violence and urged Netanyahu to “intercede to stop the phony ‘surge’ of violence,” but it ignored “the true daily surge of Arab violence, including big gun and knife attacks against Jews and car rammings against Jews, all of which are promoted by the Palestinian Arab regime and the imams in the mosques and the Palestinian media.”

“These allegations against Jews who live in Judea-Samaria are absolute nonsense based on fake data,” he added. “The U.N. is well-known for its extreme antisemitic bias against Jews and Israel, and the U.S. Senate should not be relying on its lies for policy. The amount of crimes by Jews there is tiny and handled immediately by Israel. But the average of 14 daily terrorist attacks by Palestinian Arabs is horrifically huge and is ignored by the Senate’s Democratic caucus.”

In the letter, sent to the Israeli premier last Wednesday, Senate Democrats wrote about the “fatal violence by settlers,” saying that a “significant surge” in violence recently resulted in “a large-scale response by Israeli security forces, mass arrests of Palestinians, and reported attacks by settlers on mosques.” They urged Netanyahu to specifically investigate the deaths of nine Americans who they said were killed by Israeli settlers or security forces since 2022.

According to a study known as the Regavim study, the ratio of violent attacks between Palestinians and Israelis may be as much as 100 attacks by Palestinians for every one attack by Israelis.
