MIAMI (VINnews) – Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., is echoing a sentiment that has gained attention among Jewish leaders in South Florida, declaring Florida the best place in the country to be openly Jewish and proud.

“Florida is the best state to be Jewish & proud in the entire USA,” Gimenez wrote Monday on X. “We have ZERO TOLERANCE for anti-semitism, tough law & order, a strong & growing community, & diversity of thought. It’s why Florida is the safest state to be Jewish in America!”

Gimenez’s comments echo those of former Bal Harbour Mayor Gabe Groisman, who said Miami is the best place outside Israel for an openly proud Zionist Jew.

Groisman’s comments were highlighted in an April 2025 Times of Israel article titled “The safest place to be Jewish in America.” The article cited South Florida’s large and growing Jewish community, strong ties to Israel and Jewish institutions as reasons for the region’s appeal.

Gimenez, a Republican who represents Florida’s 28th Congressional District, has been a prominent supporter of Israel and an outspoken critic of antisemitism.

His comments come as South Florida continues to attract Jewish residents and institutions from across the country, particularly from the Northeast.
