Public Safety Alert: At approximately 4:20 AM this past Shabbos morning (8/29), multiple individuals dressed in black were seen attempting to enter occupied homes throughout the Five Towns.

The Nassau County Police Department is investigating, and RNSP Shomrim has increased overnight patrols, including this coming Friday night.

Please remain extra alert and vigilant. Keep an eye out for your neighbors, and if you see or hear anything suspicious, call 911 immediately. Stay safe and look out for one another.

Statement from NCPD:

The Fourth Squad reports an attempted residential burglary that occurred on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 4:27 a.m. in North Woodmere.

According to detectives, officers responded to a Plainfield Lane residence for a possible burglary. Upon arrival it was determined that unknown subjects attempted to enter a residence. No entry was made and subjects fled in an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing.
